Growing up in Louisville, I was very blessed to play sports in high school at Eastern High School and Oak Hill Academy. I had positive and influential mentors in my life to keep me focused and motivated. They taught me how to set goals, achieve those goals and continuously strive to be successful in life. Because of those important things, I had the opportunity to attend college and play basketball at the University of Kentucky. I knew I would need financial help to make my dreams come true.
Because of my experiences growing up and my recent success so far in the NBA, I have created this program that gives an opportunity to young people that come from a similar background like me. My hope is this award helps nine young people live their dreams like I’ve been able to do. I wish all applicants good luck and I look forward to meeting the winners in the spring!
